I joined the Librarians and Facebook group in Facebook. I wanted to find out how librarians were using Facebook. My account is under a fictitious name, Rose Booker. I would have to use Facebook for a few months before I could define what makes it popular. It seems to be relatively easy to use. It's organization is quite good.
I visited MySpace but did not set-up an account. Just for fun, I searched on "library". There were 1,950,000 hits. Both Denver & Hennepin Facebook have set up a teen "cyberareas". The libraries add online database titles, booklists, programs, etc., while allowing the teens to socialize with each other. Marketing, marketing, marketing.
